FESTA PER IL PAPA PIO V
Feestelijke gezangen voor Pavia
Op 22 mei 2012 herdenkt Pavia (IT) de canonisatie van Paus S. Pius V, exact 300 jaar geleden.
Pius V is important to Pavia as he is the founder of the Collegio Ghislieri (in 1569), one of the most important cultural institutions in northern Italy, boasting many an important student, like the comedy writer Carlo Goldoni.
Capilla Flamenca will be part of the celebrations! A purily vocal concert, centered around the historical facts of the 'battle of Lepanto' and some beautiful hymns to Mary, will evoke the spirit of Pius' time.
On the programme: music by Palestrina, Lassus, Willaert, a.o.
